Dog King

King, my male dog mixed with labrador retriever, has cough

He is 2 years old... a week or so ago he went to the vet hospital for a bacterial ear infection. A few days after he developed a honking deep cough followed by gagging. He does this as he walks around or gets excited. Does not typically cough while laying down or sleeping. Signs of kennel cough? No loss of energy or appetite. Also I have a small shorkie who has not been effected at all

By the description, it seems to be a kennel cough.

Kennel cough, or infectious canine tracheobronchitis, is a highly contagious respiratory disease.

The pathogens causing this respiratory disease spread through the air, traveling from dog to dog very quickly and penetrating their respiratory tract with ease. Because of it, animals groups are very sensitive to this infection (canine residences, breeding grounds, dog contests and kennels).

In order to determine the stage of infection and treatment, you should take King to the veterinarian.
