When the outside temperatures are really high and you notice your dog is panting because of the heat, what you can do to cool your dog is, wet his armpits and nape of the neck, and give her some fresh water.
Give her a few minutes to stop panting and start breathing as usual.
You can even give her an ice cube to lick, but be careful with the amount in order not to catch cold.

If after these actions she doesn't improve, you should take her to your veterinarian for a general checkup; we advise to take x-rays of her chests and echocardiogram to assess her heart, as her panting could be due to some medical problem which should be diagnosed and treated.

All the best for you and Layla.
