At the beginning of the symptoms of giving birth the dog is restless, walks around, breathes faster, lies down and gets up.
It is usually recommended to let pass around 6 hours of the beginning of these symptoms and there is no need to worry. If it lasts longer, it could be a dystocic delivery (bad position of the foetus or the puppies are too big) and if so, she will need a c-section.

From when the first puppy is born, do not wait more than 2h between each one of them. The normal thing is that between one puppy and another there is 30 minutes till 1 hour, if more time passes, you must notify your veterinarian in order to visit the clinic before it passes 2 hours from the last puppy born.

All the best,
